Oh Keith - how kind of you. I like the idea of a walk by the river. And thank YOU for reminding me of the pause - the 'standstill' of 'solstice'!
I have to confess it is currently an unedited last minute scribble – I have a commitment to a friend that we each write a solstice and equinox poem: this must be our 11th or 12th year (actually – later – possibly even our 16th!), though we scarcely know each other. Thank goodness for such commitments sometimes – although the tide is coming in again at last for me, I'm delighted to say, it's been a couple of years since the muse was back in my pen!
Hope your break from writing and posting work on your website has been both restful and well-filling (as in drawing-water-type-well).
How I would love to write poetry like you Roselle..
"you leaving family, friends, the luxuriance
of these high summer childhood hedgerows
stitching the moor’s hem,"
these lines especially... are simply divine! xx
Thank you so much. And Susie all your writing is poetic!

Thank you Roselle for a perceptive and poignant reminder of the important things in life.
Thanks dear Chris. Solstice blessings to you. xx
Beautiful. How well you slow me down, too busy on this longest day, when the sun itself pauses. Time for a walk beside the river. Thank you.
