Belated solstice blessings to you Roselle, I love your poem especially ;
“Strip naked as the four winds
and forget being upright
unless you want to dance, and then
dance the stone row to the stone circle
and allow the sky to take your voice.”
I’m so glad of your indulgence! I tried yesterday to sit and write something, a poem, a song, anything... but the literary gods were against me, as were the school gods (so many problems causing a late night home) I danced in my head but elsewhere, sadly not.... and your nut roast, planned for supper, became omelettes and salad.
But there are other days in the making where time will be less fraught, starting tonight, can you hear my deep sigh?
Bear in mind it's an old poem; since I've been here there is so much else capturing my energy that I've barely written (despite the fact that in theory I'm a pro, making my living this way, freelance, with a number of publications, readings and workshops under my belt! – so I feel like a fraud too).
And my festive supper didn't materialise either. I realise I spend much time preparing for something and barely any time actually enjoying it. That was a lesson.
I wish you a restful and creative time. With love for the return of the light...
Thank you for sharing such beautiful words! I'm also goosebump-ridden at your mention of Ti ar Boudiged. Though I have never been to Brittany, I have been directed to that particular dolmen repeatedly in my spirit work with my ancestors. It feels very special to read your poem and know that you'll be visiting there today. Solstice blessings to you and yours!
Oh how interesting is that! Gosh, Laura. I'll mention you to the spirits there.
I wrote a blog on the place on my previous blog. I'll try and find the link later.
And yes, solstice blessings reciprocated.
PS Oh btw I don't mean the Coligny tablet (is that what we said? - My memory!). STILL can't remember the name of the one I DO mean though! Will look it up when I've a quiet moment.
Jan, I thanked you for this in the wrong place. But I want to send you love and blessings for this midwinter turning, and I'm aware that your daughter will or will soon be with you. More anon.
It's about 8 miles away from me, Rebecca, close to the magical Forest of Huelgoat in and about which I wrote my book 'A Spell in the Forest'. It's very special - has such a benign presence. If you ever come over, I'll take you there! :-)
Incredible! Thank you for sharing this wonderful blend of unbecoming and renewal based on the Ultimate made manifest - may all be lifted, healed, renewed and birthed as heavenly realities within form!

Wishing you brightness today with love x

Laura, I did - lay my hands on the upright stone in your name.

wonderful winter solstice poem -- the rhythm of ritual is taut and pulsing in it. thank you.
