The apple juice sounds amazing. The beach looks wonderful -- happy birthday TM (and which beach is it?). And the sheep! -- horrible and the loss/loss of it :( But still so much beauty amongst the questions and sadnesses. xx
Hello Jan and thanks. And the beach is due west of here, down below the Crozon peninsula: Ste Anne la Palud. At v low tide (it was the dark moon) you can walk around the headlands to two more bays. Wonderful. X
As usual it’s a joy to read your work. What you do is an inspiration to me. We live in the suburbs and that’s what I’m used to. We grow as organically as we can. It’s certainly not enough to change the environment.
I’m glad TM’s birthday was celebrated and that you have wonderful vistas.
I hope your health improves.
Thank you for sharing such an honest account of your new life. Xxx
Marg, I can't thank you enough for your ongoing support and encouragement. I 'hear' my own voice sometimes and can't see the wood for the trees, as they say; or whether I'm just repeating myself.
And well done you for growing as organically as you can. Every drop helps; the ocean is after all made of drops! X
Hello Roselle, I can identify with so much of your situation. Although th eland I have is a fraction of the area you have to look after (my garden is only about a third of an acre), There is a never ending list of things waiting to be done . Today I remembered that an old friend had told nbe abot making lettuce soup and so today I have used up two large bowlfulls along with onion and potatoes to make a pan of soup which is more appealing in the autumn than rather a lot of salad.
I don't have dogs but I did have a lovely ginger cat who sadly succumbed to bone cancer last month and I still keep expecting him to be behind a door or in the greenhouse.
I'm looking forward to seeing that cake recipe. I've mad a good vegan chocolate cake with courgettes (most unlikely, but very good!)
I could write more, but will resist the temptation to ramble on, put some more wood in the stove and draw the curtains. It's already dark at 5.00 these days. Walks in the evening are over but I did have a lovely walk yesterday down to a beach which, for here, was quite busy - two couples throwing sticks for their dogs. But Sunday is usually busier than weekedays.
Hello Anne – lovely to hear about your own life; and sad about your cat. Ah yes lettuce soup! – I have only eaten/drunk that once, but liked it. You know, I haven't sown anything like enough salad this year – I actually really crave salad in the winter!
Ah yes I make chocolate and courgette cake too; deliciously moist.

Ah Mari merci bien! X
