Thank you for sharing your thoughts about trust and giving me something meaty to chew on this morning.

Like you Roselle, I generally trust the people I meet, at least until proved wrong which sadly has happened on more than one distressing occasion. Distressing because if we cannot trust ourselves, our own judgements, how can we possibly trust another... and yet we do.

And I think we do because it is kinder on our own souls to be trusting and often, therefore trusted. Of course, also it really is easier than the option and I am not and never have been enticed by the suspicions inherent in mistrust...

This by OMD "'The Invitation': 'I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul; if you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.'" this is hard, this will always be the ultimate test of being true to oneself... and one I dread, the knowing that disappointment has been caused by an action of self. just the though gives me goosebumps!
